Quick answer: As of October 2026, Housecall Pro costs $59 to $299 a month on annual billing, or $79 to $329 a month if you pay month to month. There are three plans: Basic (1 user), Essentials (5 users) and Max (8 users, then $35 a month per extra user). Card payments cost 2.59% to 3.49% depending on how the card is taken, and bank (ACH) payments cost 1%. There’s no free plan. The 14-day free trial runs on Max features and needs no credit card.
I build EstimationPro, which some contractors look at next to Housecall Pro, so I’m not neutral. That’s why every Housecall Pro number here comes from Housecall Pro’s own pricing page and help center, checked on October 16, 2026, and linked at the bottom. If what you really need is faster estimates that follow up on their own, you can Try EstimationPro free and compare. If you want a full field service platform, here’s what Housecall Pro actually costs.
Housecall Pro plan prices
The pricing page has an annual and a monthly toggle. Here are the regular prices for each plan, according to that page:
| Plan | Users included | Monthly billing | Annual billing (per month) | Yearly total, monthly billing | Yearly total, annual billing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | 1 | $79 | $59 | $948 | $708 |
| Essentials | 5 | $189 | $149 | $2,268 | $1,788 |
| Max | 8 (+$35/mo per extra user) | $329 | $299 | $3,948 | $3,588 |
Annual billing saves $240 a year on Basic, $480 on Essentials and $360 on Max. All prices are in USD and exclude sales tax, which may apply depending on your state.
When I checked, the monthly cards also showed a sign-up offer: Basic and Essentials at $26 for the first month, and Max at $99 a month for the first 3 months (a $690 saving, tied to booking a demo). Offers like that come and go. Budget on the regular price, because that’s what you’ll pay from month two on.
How users are counted
Housecall Pro doesn’t price per user the way some tools do. Each plan comes with a set number of users:
- Basic: 1 user. It’s built for a solo operator.
- Essentials: 5 users included.
- Max: 8 users included, and the pricing page lists $35 a month per additional user.
The pricing page only lists an extra-user price for Max. If you have 6 or 7 people and want Essentials, ask Housecall Pro how they’d bill it before you sign up.
Here’s what Max costs as a crew grows, on annual billing:
| Crew size | Math | Per month | Per year |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8 users | $299 | $299 | $3,588 |
| 10 users | $299 + (2 x $35) | $369 | $4,428 |
| 12 users | $299 + (4 x $35) | $439 | $5,268 |
What each Housecall Pro plan includes
From the plan cards on the pricing page:
Basic: online booking, scheduling and dispatch, estimates and invoicing, payments and consumer financing, a price book, job costing and review management.
Essentials adds routes (group and sequence jobs to cut drive time), flat-rate pricing, checklist automations, photo reports with annotations, employee GPS tracking through the tech’s phone, commissions and QuickBooks Online sync.
Max adds the Sales Proposal Tool (the card calls it a “$40/mo value”), recurring service plans, route optimization based on drive time and traffic, open API access, a dedicated onboarding specialist and escalated phone support. The FAQ says Max is also the plan with Zapier access.
Every plan includes live phone and chat support, the iOS and Android app, English and Spanish, access to business and consumer financing, offline viewing and what Housecall Pro calls AI team members.
If most of your work is bidding projects instead of running service calls, three things decide your plan:
- Good-better-best proposals. Side-by-side options live in the Sales Proposal Tool. It’s included on Max. On other plans it’s listed as an add-on.
- Automatic follow-up on estimates. That’s Pipeline, which Housecall Pro says will “follow up on leads, estimates, and jobs at every stage.” Pipeline is an add-on; none of the three plans includes it.
- QuickBooks Online sync. Essentials and up.
So a contractor who wants options on every bid and automatic estimate follow-up is looking at Max plus Pipeline, or a lower plan plus two add-ons. That’s the part a “starts at $59” price doesn’t show.
Housecall Pro add-ons
The pricing page lists these add-ons: CSR AI (answers calls and chats), Sales Proposal Tool, Pipeline, Payroll, Accounting, Business Coaching, Voice, Campaigns, VGPS/Dashcams, Tap to Pay and Websites.
None of them shows a price on the pricing page. The page offers “a free demo and tailored pricing information” instead. Two prices I did find on Housecall Pro’s own pages:
| Add-on | Published price | Where it’s stated |
|---|---|---|
| Sales Proposal Tool | ”$40/mo value” (included on Max) | Pricing page, Max card |
| Tap to Pay on Mobile | $5 per active device per month, plus the 2.59% card fee | Help center, payment processing options |
For everything else, get the number in writing on the demo. Then add it to the plan price before you compare Housecall Pro with anything else. A $149 plan with two add-ons is not a $149 plan.
Housecall Pro payment processing fees
This is the cost that’s easiest to forget, and on remodel-size invoices it’s often bigger than the subscription. Here are the fees by how the money comes in, according to Housecall Pro’s help center (article updated July 20, 2026):
| How the customer pays | Fee | Fee on an $8,000 payment |
|---|---|---|
| Card swiped, tapped or chipped (reader or Tap to Pay) | 2.59% | $207.20 |
| Card entered online by the customer on an invoice | 2.99% | $239.20 |
| Card keyed in by staff, scanned in the app, or saved on file | 3.49% | $279.20 |
| American Express, commercial, corporate or business card (any method) | 3.49% | $279.20 |
| ACH / bank transfer | 1% | $80.00 |
| PayPal or Venmo on an invoice | 2.99% | $239.20 |
| Klarna or PayPal Pay Later | 4.99% | $399.20 |
| Consumer financing | Starting at 3.9% | From $312.00 |
| Mobile check deposit | Free | $0 |
Standard card payouts take 2 business days, and Housecall Pro says your first payout can take up to 7 business days. Instapay gets you the money instantly for an extra 1%, so pulling that $8,000 early costs another $80. The help center also notes some ACH payments can take up to 7 business days and not every ACH payment can be paid out instantly.
The pricing page headline says card rates are “as low as 2.59%.” That’s the in-person rate. If your project invoices get paid online, that’s 2.99%, and a homeowner paying with an Amex or a business card is 3.49% no matter how they pay.
Here’s what that means on a $24,000 job paid in three $8,000 payments:
| Paid by | Math | Total fees |
|---|---|---|
| Card, online invoice | $24,000 x 2.99% | $717.60 |
| Business card or Amex | $24,000 x 3.49% | $837.60 |
| ACH | $24,000 x 1% | $240.00 |
| Check (mobile deposit) | Free | $0 |
The gap between an online card payment and ACH on that one job is $477.60. That’s more than three months of Essentials on annual billing ($149 x 3 = $447). On big invoices, I’d put the payment method in the estimate terms so it’s settled before the first invoice goes out. If you’re thinking about a card surcharge, check your state’s rules and your processor’s terms first.
What Housecall Pro really costs a 3-person crew for a year
The plan price is the small part. Here’s a worked example using Housecall Pro’s published prices and assumptions you should swap for your own:
- 3 people, so Basic (1 user) is out and Essentials (5 users) is the plan
- Annual billing
- $300,000 collected through Housecall Pro in a year: half by card on online invoices, half by ACH
- No add-ons
| Line | Math | Yearly cost |
|---|---|---|
| Essentials, annual | $149 x 12 | $1,788 |
| Card fees (online invoices) | $150,000 x 2.99% | $4,485 |
| ACH fees | $150,000 x 1% | $1,500 |
| Total | $7,773 |
That’s about $648 a month. The software is $1,788 of it. The payment fees are $5,985. Pay the plan month to month instead ($189 x 12 = $2,268) and the year comes to $8,253. If $50,000 of that card volume comes in on business cards or Amex at 3.49%, add another $250 ($50,000 x 0.5%).
For comparison, Jobber’s pricing page (checked the same day) shows Connect for a 2-5 person team as a 5-user bundle at $149 a month on annual billing. That’s cheaper for 3 people than one user at $99 plus two added users at $29 each ($157). Jobber’s card fee is 2.9% + 30¢ and ACH is 1%. The same 3-person crew on Connect, with the card volume spread over 30 payments (Jobber adds 30¢ per card payment; Housecall Pro’s fee table lists percentages only):
| Line | Math | Yearly cost |
|---|---|---|
| Connect, 5-user bundle, annual | $149 x 12 | $1,788 |
| Card fees | $150,000 x 2.9% + 30 x $0.30 | $4,359 |
| ACH fees | $150,000 x 1% | $1,500 |
| Total | $7,647 |
The software line is the same $1,788 on both. The whole $126 gap is the card fee: $4,485 on Housecall Pro’s online rate vs $4,359 on Jobber’s. For this crew, the price difference is small. The real difference is what’s in the plan. Jobber’s Connect card lists automated quote follow-ups and QuickBooks Online sync. Housecall Pro’s Essentials includes QuickBooks Online sync, but automated estimate follow-up is the Pipeline add-on. I wrote up Jobber’s full price list in Jobber pricing.
Revenue isn’t profit, and every dollar in these tables is overhead. Run your real software and fee total through the contractor overhead calculator, then make sure your markup still covers it with the contractor markup calculator.
Contract terms and trial fine print
From Housecall Pro’s pricing page FAQ:
- No long-term contract. The FAQ says Housecall Pro does not require one.
- Upgrades take effect right away. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current monthly or annual billing period.
- Free trial: 14 days with full access to Max features, no credit card to start. Housecall Pro sends a reminder before it ends, and your data is kept if the trial expires.
- Add-ons and extra users are optional.
- Franchises and multi-location businesses get custom pricing through sales.
Two things I’d watch. First, the trial runs on Max. If you trial Max and then buy Basic to save money, you lose the Sales Proposal Tool, QuickBooks sync and route optimization, so write down during the trial which of those you actually used. Second, the pricing page doesn’t say whether an annual payment is refunded if you cancel partway through the year. Ask before you prepay. I wouldn’t pay a year up front for any software until I’d run a month of real jobs through it.
Which Housecall Pro plan fits which contractor
Going by what each plan includes:
- Basic ($59-$79): you’re solo, you want online booking, scheduling, estimates, invoices and payments in one app, and you don’t need QuickBooks sync.
- Essentials ($149-$189): you have 2 to 5 people in the field, want to see techs on a map and route their day, and need QuickBooks Online sync.
- Max ($299-$329 for 8 users): you sell good-better-best options on most jobs, run recurring maintenance agreements, or need the API and Zapier. It’s also the only plan with a published extra-user price, so it’s the default for crews over 5 unless Housecall Pro quotes Essentials differently.
Most of what the upgrades add is field operations: routes, GPS, checklists, commissions, service plans. If your week is service calls and techs in trucks, that’s money well spent. If your week is mostly bidding projects, price out the add-ons you’d need to make the bidding side work before you pick a tier.
Where EstimationPro fits, and where it doesn’t
I’m a remodeler. My problem was never dispatching trucks. It was building estimates at night, then getting busy on a job and forgetting to chase them. A lot of jobs are won on the second or third follow-up, not the first estimate.
EstimationPro does that part. You give it photos, a voice walkthrough, typed notes or measurements, and it builds a priced, line-item estimate with labor and materials adjusted for your region, including Good-Better-Best tiers. You review every line, then send it as a branded PDF or a link the client can view and approve. When you send it from EstimationPro, the client gets a reminder at 24 hours if they haven’t opened it, another 48 hours after they open it if they haven’t responded, and a final one at 7 days. Contractors save 2+ hours per estimate.
Starter is $79 a month (10 estimates) and Pro is $149 a month (25 estimates, plus e-signatures, invoices, deposits and milestone payment schedules). It is not a dispatch, crew-routing or field-service platform, and it doesn’t order materials. If you need those, Housecall Pro or a tool like it is the better fit. For a feature-by-feature look, see EstimationPro vs Housecall Pro.
FAQ: Housecall Pro pricing questions
Does Housecall Pro have a free plan? No. As of October 2026 there’s a 14-day free trial with Max features and no credit card required, then you pick a paid plan.
How much is Housecall Pro per user? Plans include users instead of charging per seat: Basic includes 1, Essentials 5 and Max 8. The pricing page lists $35 a month for each additional user on Max.
Is Housecall Pro cheaper if I pay annually? Yes. Essentials is $149 a month billed annually vs $189 month to month, which saves $480 a year. Basic saves $240 a year and Max $360.
What are Housecall Pro’s credit card fees? 2.59% for cards taken in person, 2.99% for cards a customer enters on an online invoice, and 3.49% for keyed-in cards, cards on file, Amex and business cards. ACH is 1%, and mobile check deposit is free.
Which Housecall Pro plan has good-better-best proposals? The Sales Proposal Tool is included on Max. On Basic and Essentials it’s listed as an add-on, priced on a demo.
Does Housecall Pro follow up on estimates automatically? Automatic follow-up on leads, estimates and jobs is part of Pipeline, which is an add-on with no price on the pricing page. Basic includes automatic reminders on invoices. If chasing bids is where you lose jobs, read how to follow up on a quote for the timing and wording that works.
How should I cover software and card fees in my prices? Treat them as overhead. Add up your yearly plan, add-ons and processing fees, spread them across your expected jobs with the contractor overhead calculator, and check the margin you keep with the profit margin calculator.
Before you pick a plan
Add up the whole year: plan, extra users, the add-ons you’ll actually need and the payment fees on your real invoice sizes. Then pick the cheapest setup that still does the part of the job that makes you money. For me, that’s the follow-up on the bids I already send.
If that’s the part you need most, EstimationPro follows up automatically on every estimate you send from it, and Pro handles the invoice once the client says yes. Try EstimationPro free with a 7-day trial, $0 today.
